Seymen Power Plant 2nd Stage Works Are Continuing.

The “Seymen Landfill Gas Power Generation Facility”, which is planned to be opened in the Silivri district of Istanbul in October this year, will be the world’s largest landfill gas power generation facility established in a single area.
Although its installed capacity was 8 megawatts for the first year, the facility, which will increase over the years and reach 66 megawatts in 2046, will have the distinction of being the world’s largest landfill gas power generation facility established in a single area. While the facility has been storing domestic solid waste since 2015, it has been storing approximately 12 thousand tons of domestic solid waste per day since the beginning of 2018. The facility, which will be able to meet the annual electricity needs of 342 thousand households when completed, will prevent 277 thousand tons of CO2 emissions per year. This is expected to provide an environmental benefit equivalent to removing 228 thousand vehicles from traffic and planting 7 million 100 thousand trees.
